Sensor
Fuzed Weapon (SFW) |
 |
Our Sensor Fuzed Weapon
(SFW) wins in more ways than one. Superior lethality makes
it the standoff weapon of choice for anti-armor, anti-air
defense and other air combat missions. The SFW, a 1,000-pound
class weapon, is the first smart air-to-surface munition
to enter into production for the U.S. Air Force. Combat
proven on April 2, 2003 in Operation Iraqi Freedom, SFW
took out multiple Iraqi tanks in a single pass. Visit
our Press Room to learn more about SFW's combat performance. |

BLU-108
Submunition |
 |
Developed in partnership
with the U.S. Air Force as part of our CBU-105 Sensor
Fuzed Weapon air-to-surface munition, BLU-108 is the only
U.S.-manufactured smart submunition in production today.
Combat proven in Operation Iraqi Freedom as part of the
SFW, the BLU-108 Sensor Fuzed submunition contains four
smart Skeet warheads equipped with dual-mode passive infrared
and active laser sensors for target detection and engagement.
Each Skeet warhead features built-in redundant self-destruct
logic modes, leaving battlefields clean of unexploded
warheads that endanger the lives of innocent civilians. |

HR Textron Electromechanical
Actuation (EMA) technology has improved weapon-system
performance in every conflict application. Our tail actuation
system (TAS), battle proven in Kosovo and Afghanistan
on Boeing's Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM), converts
previously unguided free-fall bombs into highly accurate
guided weapons. |
