Mobility on the Water

Specialty Marine Craft

At Textron Systems, we set the standard in specialty marine craft, by producing the most reliable, technologically advanced air cushion vehicles, surface effect ships and advanced conventional hulls for both military and commercial customers.

The Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) provides a revolutionary means by which the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps access more than 70 percent of the world's shorelines. Considered the cornerstone of U.S. amphibious forces, LCAC can traverse water, snow, marsh, ice, tundra and sand. Initially used as a troop and equipment transporter, LCAC has evolved into a multi-mission craft with additional roles such as mine hunting and sweeping and humanitarian relief.

Our Motor Lifeboat (MLB), in service with the U.S. Coast Guard, is deigned to perform heavy weather rescue in hurricane force winds and 20-foot breaking seas. This all-aluminum marine innovative withstands impacts of three times the acceleration of gravity, and can survive a complete roll over, self-righting in less than 10 seconds with all machinery remaining fully operational. Currently available in 47-ft. and 52-ft. configurations, this versatile craft is attracting international attention for use in search and rescue, patrol, firefighting and other law enforcement and paramilitary activities.
